Celebration for successful grant recipients

Following their successful native title determination, the Wadjanbarra Tableland Yidinji people are keen to get started on their cultural heritage database. The database is being funded by a Wet Tropics Small Grant.

Dionie Johnson on behalf of Wadjanbarra Tableland Yidinji Aboriginal Corporation writes:“Wadjanbarra Tableland Yidinji people are the traditional custodians of the low-lying forest between the Tableland mountains. Developing a Cultural Heritage Database is a new beginning for the Corporation, to strengthen the importance to protect our areas of cultural significance of our country and our people. With it comes the stories and traditional languages of places. The most important is knowledge that can be passed onto our young and our displaced peoples.”
