Scientific Advisory Committee
The Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) is a statutory committee under Queensland legislation. SAC members are appointed by the WTMA Board as individuals who represent a broad range of scientific knowledge and expertise about World Heritage management. Committee membership is based on expertise in the natural, ecological, socio-cultural and/or
economic sciences. The Board has endorsed the SAC operational guidelines.
The SAC generally meets three or four times a year and provides advice to the Board on a broad range of scientific issues. The meetings are often attended by representatives from DERM and research organisations as required.
