Frogs - Links

If you would like to learn more about the dozens of amphibians we have in north Queensland, there are many resources to consult. Frogs have become very popular in recent years and many books are now available as are posters, cards, statuettes, T-shirts and frogcall identification tapes. Some of the most popular to be found are:

  • A Field Guide to Australian Frogs by J. Barker, G. Grigg & M. Tyler ©1995 Surrey Beatty & Sons, Chipping Norton, NSW
  • Australian Frogs A Natural History by Michael Tyler © 1994 Reed Books, Sydney
  • Attracting Frogs to Your Garden by Kevin Casey ©1994 Reed Books, Sydneyv
  • A Guide to Stream-dwelling Frogs of the Rainforest by Jean-Marc Hero, Griffith University, QLD ©1994
  • Quite a few sites on the Internet also feature information about frogs and some of the ones you might want to have a look at are:

  • the site of the Amphibian Specialist Group
  • the amphibian disease site of James Cook University
  • the Threatened frog site at Environment Australia.
