Resources for Students & Teachers
This section of the website contains a broad range of educational resources and links. Many of these are found in Rainforest Explorer which opens as a separate site. There is also a wealth of additional materials and links to be found in this section.
If you are learning about the Wet Tropics rainforests or helping to conserve the Wet Tropics environment, you or your class at school can enter the Young Cassowary Awards.

Rainforest Explorer - a range of school curricula and activities
Rainforest Explorer contains a whole range of resources and activities about the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area and its plants and animals.
It is suitable for both teachers and students. It contains a library full of videos, fact sheets, pictures, clip art and activitiy sheets.
These resources are integrated into three school curricula:
- Preparatory to Year 3
- Year 4 to Year 7
- Year 8 to Year 9
If you spend some time browsing through Rainforest Explorer you can learn about World Heritage rainforests and other vegetation, plants and animals, the history of the Area, and what different people in the community think about the Area.
Rainforest Explorer is also an excellent resource for Wet Tropics residents and visitors who would like to learn more about the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area and enrich their visit to the many attractions in the Area.

Learn about Nature in North Queensland is a brochure which lists hundreds of websites where you can find out more about our Wet Tropics rainforests and their plants and animals.
