| Track Description |
Lambs Head (Kahlpahlim Rock), the highest point in the Lamb Range presents a challenging adventure for the experienced bushwalker. The 11 kilometre track rises steeply through woodland and rainforest, mostly along old logging roads, before turning into a bush track which winds up and around the massive boulders and pristine high altitude rainforest to Kahlpahlim Rock. Weather permitting, the views are absolutely magnificent, overlooking Copperlode Dam and the ranges below and then further down to Cairns, Trinity Inlet and the sea. This is one of the best walks in North Queensland.
You will need a permit to drive into the state forest if you wish to do this walk. And beware, the track is sometimes not well marked and hard to follow. You will need to prepare before doing this long day walk. Some local knowledge and a map are helpful.
