| Track Description |
This walk is part of the newly opened Misty Mountain Trails which is situated between the towns of Innisfail, Tully, Ravenshoe and Millaa Millaa. This 130km walking network offers a variety of rainforest walks from shorter half day and day walks to longer treks requiring overnight camping. Several of the Misty Mountain walking tracks follow the routes traditionally used by the Ma:Mu and Jirrbal Traditional Owners to connect the coastal plain to the rocky country of the tablelands. Please note: some parts of the Misty Mountains Trails may be closed during the wet season due to flooding rivers and closed access roads.
The highlight of this circuit walk is Walters Waterhole, a local beauty spot ideal for swimming and picnicking. A campsite is available if you wish to spend a night here in the rainforest full of strangler figs, palm lianes and epiphytes. The walk returns along the top of the Djilgarrin track and the last 1.4km is along Tully Falls Road.
