Track Description
Mount Turtle Circuit This scenic walk travels through open eucalypt forest with numerous grass trees and offers spectacular views from the summit. The walk ascends 300m along a spur to Mount Turtle which is about 900m high. It then descends along another spur before veering back to campsite 2. Camping is available with a permit from the EPA. You will be following a marked trail, so make sure that you stay on the track and don't wander far without locating the next marker.
How To Get There
The Mount Turtle Circuit starts at campsite 2, 2.4km past Davies Creek Falls. Davies Creek National Park is along a dirt road, seven kilometres off the Kennedy Highway. The turn off is signposted about 21 kilometres from Kuranda on the way to Mareeba. To reach campsite 2, drive past the camping and picnic areas and follow the narrow road to the top of the hill and travel 2.4km past the small carpark on your left at Davies Creek Falls.
