| Track Description |
Close to Cairns and Mareeba, Davies Creek National Park is a favourite spot for locals. It offers a spacious picnic area and camping facilities, spread out amidst the rocky platforms and shady trees by the creek. Visitors can negotiate the rocks and swim in the pools in this area at their leisure. The adventurous can even follow the creek to the base of the waterfall.
The Falls Circuit begins further up the road at the top of the hill above the waterfall. It is a pleasant stroll down the gravel path to the lookout. Standing on a huge rock platform, you can look straight down the falls to the rockpool below. There are also spectacular views down the creek and across to Mareeba and the Tableland in the distance. From here there a scenic walk along the creek banks takes you to a beautiful swimming hole surrounded by rocky outcrops and a beach. The circuit is completed by a short climb back to the carpark.

| How To Get There |
Davies Creek National Park is along a dirt road, seven kilometres off the Kennedy Highway. The turn off is signposted about 21 kilometres from Kuranda on the way to Mareeba. To reach the Falls Circuit, drive past the camping and picnic areas and follow the narrow road to the top of the hill. Just before the gate there is a small carpark on your left and a track leading down to the falls lookout. |
