Places and Drives - The Tablelands - Davies Creek

Smooth granite rocks, cool pools and stunning waterfalls set in eucalypt forests give a distinctive character to this National Park camping area bordering the World Heritage Area. One kilometre (.6 mile) from the campground is a series of short walking tracks along the creek and overlooking the top of the falls with spectacular views of the Tablelands. A permit is required from DNR Atherton (4091-1844) to travel past the top of Davies Creek Falls. For information about Davies Creek campground, contact QPWS Cairns on 4052-3096.

How to get there
Look for the signposted turnoff to Davies Creek about 10km (6 miles) from Mareeba and 30km (18 miles) from Kuranda. Follow the unsealed road for 6km (3.7 miles) and you will reach the parking area and campground on your left.
