Places and Drives - The Central Coast - Eubanangee Swamp

Although not part of the World Heritage Area, the freshwater Eubenangee wetlands are a very important part of the regional ecosystem. They are a remnant of vast wetlands that once would have covered much of Australia - now only .5% remains. In the dry season, waterlilies flower here, as well as rare sedges such as Eleocharis and Fimbristylis. (Don't forget the mosquito repellent.)

How to get there
Turn off the Bruce Highway at Miriwinni and drive 6km (3.7 miles) along the Bramston Beach road, then turn right onto Cartwright Road where there is a sign to Eubanangee National Park. About 1km along Cartwright Road is the parking area where a short track to the lookout starts. Phone (07) 4067-6304 for more details.
