Places and Drives - The Northern Tropics - Keating's Lagoon - Mulbabidgee

Rangers from the local Gungarde Aboriginal Corporation worked on the 1.5km (nearly 1 mile) boardwalk and walking track on the edge of this important bird sanctuary. A bird hide provides a perfect spot for spying on magpie geese, black ducks, whistlers and brolgas, especially towards the end of the dry season.

How to get there
The lagoon is 5km (3 miles) from Cooktown on the Cooktown Development Road. The QPWS office in Cooktown can provide more details on (07) 4069-5777.
