Passionate community members are being urged to join a new far north Queensland restoration group.
Formed in 2022, the Wet Tropics Restoration Alliance is a network of individuals, academic institutions, Rainforest Aboriginal Peoples and more, committed to reviving ecologically damaged landscapes.
Together, the Alliance aims to ensure the survival of forests across the Wet Tropics by building the skills and capacity within our region. This includes seeking increased investment for restoration-based programs across the Wet Tropics.
To help build the Alliance, an interim steering group, appointed by an independent panel, will be established through an application process.
If you would like to nominate for the steering group, please read the Interim Steering Group Terms of Reference and submit an Expression of Interest.
Once you’ve completed the form, email it to restoration@wtma.qld.gov.au.
The closing date for submissions is 10am Monday 20 March 2023.
Experience working in nature-based programs is preferred, but not essential.
