Call for Expressions of Interest for Community Consultative Committee

The Board of the Wet Tropics Management Authority invites interested and motivated people to become members of the Authority’s Community Consultative Committee.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a key group contributing to new approaches to World Heritage management and making a difference to the exceptional Wet Tropics World Heritage Area.

The Community Consultative Committee will comprise of members across a variety of sectors and communities of interest. They advise the Authority’s Board of community views on the Authority’s policies and programs in relation to the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. They also provide advice to the Wet Tropics Management Authority Board on relevant World Heritage issues.

We are seeking individuals who are well connected within their network and communicate effectively, and who have a good knowledge of protection and presentation of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area.

Committee members are appointed for a three year term. The Committee will meet a minimum of two times a year with most meetings held in Cairns. Members are not paid sitting fees, however their travel and associated expenses are reimbursed.
