Wet Tropics Community Consultative Committee 2026-2029 Expression of Interest

The Wet Tropics Management Authority (WTMA) is seeking expressions of interest from motivated and community‑minded people to join the Community Consultative Committee (CCC) for the 2026–2029 term. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a key advisory group that contributes to World Heritage management and making a difference to the exceptional Wet Tropics World Heritage Area (the Area)—one of the oldest and most biodiverse rainforests on Earth.

The CCC supports WTMA's Board by providing advice on community aspirations and interests in contemporary World Heritage management. Meeting a minimum of three times a year, primarily in Cairns, this committee brings diverse perspectives and cross‑sectoral discussion to complex challenges impacting the Area.

Committee membership is on a voluntary basis as per Queensland Government policy, with Rainforest Aboriginal committee members paid in accordance with the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI) First Nations Payment Guide.

If you are enthusiastic about contributing to the future of this globally significant region and representing the views of our diverse community, we encourage you to submit an expression of interest.
