Kuranda Community Tree Planting & BBQ Street Party

Join the Kuranda Yellow Crazy Ant Community Taskforce for a fun community tree planting to help create Kuranda treefrog habitat and improve riparian access for yellow crazy ant eradication.

Date: Saturday 1 December

Time: 4.00pm

Venue: Barron River banks, Russett Park, Kuranda

Event to be followed by a BBQ and street party at 6.00pm to celebrate the push back on the yellow crazy ants at Russett Park. We are winning but it’s not over yet!

BYO chair and drinks. - an esky will be provided.

Signs will be out in Cadagi Drive to indicate access to the exact planting location.

Tree planting requirements

  • All holes will be dug and fertilized and trees placed.
  • We just need you with your smile, closed in shoes, hat, gloves and water bottle to get these trees in the ground.
  • Together we will get 550 trees planted!


Bulmba Rangers and Kuranda Envirocare will host this tree planting and BBQ street party, made possible through a State Community Sustainability grant.
