Rainforest Aboriginal Peoples are the Traditional Custodians of the Wet Tropics and have an important connection to the Wet Tropics cultural landscape.
A commitment was made in the Wet Tropics Regional Agreement (2005) to involve Rainforest Aboriginal Peoples in the management of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area.
One of the ways this was to occur was through an annual forum for all Rainforest Aboriginal tribal groups with other signatories, including government agencies.
These forums have also considered the Authority’s Plan Review process as well as other matters important to Rainforest Aboriginal Peoples. The outcome reports from recent forums are available below.
