2019 Student Research Grants (now closed)

Each year the Wet Tropics Management Authority invites proposals from postgraduate students from across Australia to support environmental, social and cultural research which will benefit Wet Tropics World Heritage Area Management, policy development and operational decision making.

Funding of up to $4,000 is available for PhD and Masters research projects, and up to $1,500 for Honours projects.

Well-conceived projects, meeting the priorities outlined in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area Research Strategy 2014-18 document and demonstrating scientific rigour and innovative research will be viewed favourably.

In 2019, the Authority is keen to fund research that contributes to our understanding of the impacts of climate change, and strategies that protect and conserve the natural and cultural integrity of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area.

Applications for the 2019 grants closed on 1 March 2019 and successful applicants have been notified.
