As part of the Great Northern Clean Up, on September 15 we held our annual Wet Tropics Clean Up at Wangetti Beach.
Volunteers noticed a decline in rubbish, picking up only 5 bags of rubbish this year compared to the 12 from last year. This is a great success for the community as a whole. Once again plastic bottles were one of the main culprits.
The Authority’s Executive Director Scott Buchanan showed up to help support this great cause: a job well done to all during a wonderful day out, and a big shout out to host and Senior Conservation Officer Bill Carrodus for another great effort.
