Wet Tropics endangered species video

A new video featuring Wet Tropics locals (people, plants and animals) was released in September in celebration of Threatened Species Day and National Biodiversity Month.

‘Explore the secret lives of Tropical North Queensland’s endangered species’ is the product of a partnership between the Authority, Terrain NRM, Tourism Tropical North Queensland and community groups. Mabi forest, mahogany gliders, spotted-tailed quolls, southern cassowaries and Kuranda treefrogs make an appearance, as does the northern bettong, courtesy of the Authority’s Dr Sandra Abell.

The video aims to raise awareness of some of the endangered species in Tropical North Queensland. As Dr Abell notes, “If we connect with our wildlife, we’ll value them and we won’t let them drift off and be lost for our future generations.”
