Wet Tropics gets topographical

If you’ve ever wanted a topographical view of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, virtual exploration is now at your fingertips.

The Department of Natural Resources and Mines has recently released its QTopo maps – detailed and easy to use online topographic maps.

Topographic maps show information about the shape of the land: both natural features and purpose-built structures. Through Qtopo maps you can zoom in or out depending on your needs.

They can be used to obtain precise measurements (within map scale limits) of distance, direction, area and quantity.
You can also print out specific areas in PDF format.

For more information go to the Department of Natural Resources and Mines website.
