The Wet Tropics Management Plan 1998 (the Management Plan) provides opportunity for guidelines to be made about certain matters. Guidelines provide more detail about how those matters will be considered under the Management Plan. For example, section 62 of the Management Plan allows the Authority to make guidelines that show how permit applications will be assessed, and provide additional information to permit applicants. These guidelines may sometimes be used as part of the conditions for issuing a permit.
