Management Plan guidelines
Guidelines support the Wet Tropics Management Plan 1998 (the Management Plan) and guide assessment of permits. They assist decision making and the application and interpretation of legislation to help people to understand their obligations when carrying out certain activities in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area (the Area).
What the guidelines cover
The guidelines offer practical information on how the permit system operates, including the process for assessing different activities and the details required in applications. They also explain how to comply with Management Plan requirements to ensure activities align with the protection of the Area’s values.
Additionally, the guidelines may outline acceptable standards, methods or approaches for specific activities, providing direction to help applicants minimise impacts and meet regulatory requirements.
