2025 Rainforest Aboriginal Peoples' Regional Forum announced

The Regional Forum is an important opportunity for Rainforest Aboriginal Peoples to come together and discuss the management of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area and broader biocultural region—a longstanding commitment in the Wet Tropics of Queensland Regional Agreement 2005.

This year’s Regional Forum is aligned with the NAIDOC 2025 theme—The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy. Collectively we will focus on preserving cultural heritage, fostering sustainable practices, and empowering the next generation of leaders.

In 2023, more than 60 Rainforest Aboriginal Peoples from across the region participated in the Regional Forum.

The Regional Forum will be held in Port Douglas from Tuesday 10 to Thursday 12 March.

This event is organised by the Wet Tropics Management Authority with support from Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships, and Terrain NRM.
