The Wet Tropics World Heritage Area straddles the two Regional Tourism Organisation boundaries of Tourism Tropical North Queensland and Townsville Enterprise. Both Organisations are membership based and industry funded. Their combined network of over 30 Visitor Information Centres provides quality, unbiased information to help plan an enjoyable visit to the Wet Tropics region.
Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) is responsible for marketing the Tropical North Queensland region as the World's leading destination to engage with nature. TTNQ promotes Tropical North Queensland globally as a travel destination.
The region includes Cairns, Palm Cove and the beaches, Port Douglas and Daintree, Kuranda and the Atherton Tablelands, Mission Beach and the Cassowary Coast, Cape York and the Gulf Savannah.
In addition to its role as the peak Economic Development Organisation, Townsville Enterprise is also the Regional Tourism Organisation for the Townsville North Queensland region and works to position the Townsville Region as a diverse and exciting holiday destination with the tourism industry and government/industry agencies such as Tourism & Events Queensland, Queensland Tourism Industry Council, Tourism Australia and the State and Federal Governments.
The Team undertakes key tourism marketing campaigns each year to attract domestic and international visitors. Each campaign targets key source markets for the region and encourages Townsville Enterprise Members to showcase their products in the campaigns.
