Wet Tropics Tourism Network

The Wet Tropics Tourism Network is a forum-style meeting where the tourism industry, industry stakeholders and individuals work with the Wet Tropics Management Authority (Wet Tropics) on projects and current issues related to nature-based tourism in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area.

The Network is comprised of representatives from the tourism industry, government agencies, conservation groups, individuals and Rainforest Aboriginal people. Interest from other tourism-related stakeholders are warmly welcomed. The Network was established in 2011.

The focus of the Network is to facilitate partnerships and cooperation in presenting the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area and values through tourism.  Smaller, task-oriented ‘focus groups’ are convened from within the Network, on key issues and project opportunities of the day.  Some of the current projects include Wet Tropics guide training, the National Landscapes program and the development of digital and print resources to support guides and operators.
