Projects

2017-18 priorities

Through collaborative partnerships, the Authority will implement and invest in a range of projects that contribute to World Heritage outcomes and strategic goals.

In a broad sense, these include:

  • Knowledge sharing and presentation projects that influence the way people understand, appreciate and engage with the World Heritage Area.

  • Rainforest Aboriginal partnership projects to ensure that the World Heritage Area delivers benefits to Rainforest Aboriginal people and to increase opportunities for Aboriginal land management.

  • The review of the Wet Tropics Management Plan 1998 to improve the management of the World Heritage Area.

  • Conservation and science projects that focus on managing threats to values and promoting rehabilitation and conservation of the World Heritage Area.

  • Organisational governance projects that have to be carried out for best practice and to promote the work that the Authority does to ensure World Heritage continues to have a function in the day to day life of the community.
